A contemporary line across the river
A flowing glass canopy traces the Mtkvari River crossing between Old Tbilisi and Rike Park. The Bridge of Peace brings contemporary architecture into the heart of the city.
Its story through time
Opened in 2010, the pedestrian bridge was designed by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi. Its creation added a distinctly modern landmark to the riverfront, linking the historic centre with Rike Park.
Architecture and character
Curved steel tubes carry a glazed canopy with a wave-like profile. The walkway broadens towards its middle, while transparent surfaces and the repeating structure lend the crossing a light, open character.
